5pm Beginner Bolero Variations

March 1 @ 5:00 pm - 6:00 pm

|Recurring Event (See all)

An event every week that begins at 5:00 pm on Sunday, repeating until April 5, 2020

In this beginner class we’ll start from the very beginning to get you familiar with the basic step, as well as some of our favorite moves!

Bolero is beautiful dance that’s named after the Cuban music it’s danced to (there’s an unrelated type of music called Bolero that originated in Spain).
It uses rise and fall (similar to Waltz), Cuban motion, and contra-body action, making it very useful to improve one’s body control, balance, timing, and movement.  It’s sometime called the dance of love because it looks, well, like you’re love with the person you’re dancing with.  Although Bolero is usually danced in ballrooms, once you know it, you’ll be surprised how useful it is.  Come see it for yourself!

Only $10 for Shackers, $15 for Non-Members, and no partner or experience needed!
